1. Man of Sorrows! What a Name – Lamentations 3:1-20
The rod of comfort (Psalm 23:4) became the rod of wrath (Lam. 3:1)
Instead of being led beside still waters (Psalm 23:2), he is led into darkness (Lam.3:2).
Instead of green pastures (Psalm 23:2), he is besieged, enveloped, walled in, and
blocked (Lam. 3:5, 7, 9).
Paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:3) became crooked paths (Lam. 3:9).
What pursues him is not goodness and mercy (Psalm 23:6), but a bear lying in wait and a
lion in hiding (Lam. 3:10).
His dwelling place is not the house of the Lord (Psalm 23:6), but darkness like the dead
(Lam. 3:6).
2. Rescued Sinners to Reclaim – Lamentations 3:21-32
Yet! (Lamentations 3:21-24)
Wait! (Lamentations 3:25-32)
3. Hallelujah! What a Savior! – Lamentations 3:33-66
